Fall at Snowbird

Parker, Macy and I got tired of being in the house today so we decided to head up to Snowbird. A pretty good storm rolled in on Saturday morning and rained a ton down in the valley. I'd read that there was 12-24 inches of snow at the higher elevations and Macy wanted to see the snow. We took the Snowbird tram to Hidden Peak (11000'). Octoberfest is going on at Snowbird right now, so I had to keep Parker away from the kegs. We also picked up our season passes when we were there.
From the Snowbird patio we could see the fall colors

We took a few pictures at the top of the Hidden Peak. This is Mineral Basin on the backside of the resort. I'm pretty sure this valley is accessible by four-wheeler from the Heber side.

Looking Northwest this is the "Road to Provo" - For those familiar with the resort.

Mineral Basin lift is in the foreground. Timpanagoos in the back.

This is looking East from the top of Hidden Peak. Heber Valley is on the other side of these mountains.

At the summit the wind was blowing about 15-20 mphs so it was pretty cold. We only lasted a few minutes outside for these pics and then headed into the warming hut so Macy could go to the bathroom. We were only on top of the mountain for 20 minutes.

View from the tram looking up at Hidden Peak. Tram takes about 8 minutes to get to the top and climbs over 2000 vertical feet.

This picture was taken from the tram looking down Little Cottonwood Canyon towards the Salt Lake Valley.

You always pass the other tram car as you head up or down. They counter balance each other.

Way to go on the blog, hon. This means that now I can just post on my blog, "see Steve's blog." Love the pictures too. Those are some cute kids, aren't they? Oh, and can we stop watching sports now?

I love the blog. Great pictures. It is making me a little sad that winter is right around the corner. I don't think I am ready. I second the notion of turning off the sports. If I have to watch ESPN one more minute this weekend, I might have to poke my eyes out!!

It's about time one of our husbands stepped it up and started their own blog. We like to see things from a man's point of view every once in a while. I especially love all of the pictures.
Aly- No, this is not an excuse for you not to post. Sorry.
Hey, We are driving up this weekend. We'll be in on Thursday. Hope to see you guys.

So, when I went to view your blog so I could comment, it gave me a warning and said that there could be inappropriate content on this blog and to be warned. How funny is that? Why is your blog so scandalous? Anyway, I love it and hopefully you'll be a better poster than your dear, sweet wife whom I love deeply, but never posts. I miss your sweet kids so much...and you and Aly too. Give them all kisses for me. And keep the pictures coming!
